MADELINE no more!!!  we had to change the name from MADELINE to something else if we wanted to have her registered in Canada...  a ferry somewhere in Quebec took the name MADELEINE sometime in 1997 so we needed to choose something else...  we didn't want to be called a "number 2" so we had to come up with a new name...  since we're moving to Lugano, Switzerland in the Italian speaking canton of Ticino, we wondered what MADELINE might be in Italian...  "MAGDALENA"...  also Pete's paternal grandmother's name.  Sounds perfect...

Let's drink to that!!!  Those attending the denaming/renaming party at Bennett Brothers Yachts in Wilmington, NC included Steve Quick from VAGABOND, Dick White from WE'RE NOT SURE, EH, Mike and Janne Beatty from ELEPHANT'S CHILD, and the crew of MAGDALENA, Doreen Nourse (Sara's mom), Monty Boultbee, Sara and Pete Huerter.

The Admiral (Pete) joined -magdalena- from Wilmington, NC to Virginia Beach, VA in mid May 2004.  We had fair winds and enjoyed morning coffee with dolphins...

We then moved -magdalena- to Atlantic Yacht Basin in Chesapeake, VA to have some work done on the port rudder.  While we were there Sara's father and step-mom (Bill and Pegi Wood) came down to Virginia.  They took the crew out for a lovely "last supper" and waved good-bye from the dock.
